Cinema …its effect

Today, cinema has become a top entertainer. What is so special about cinema…?? It gives that sound and view to your life.

In reality we hear sound but the background sound which runs in the cinema is only an effect which is almost nil in real life. There is lot more silence in life. Music and sound are always there in life but not to an extent we hear in movies.

Camera gives us the view which surely, few people can see in reality. We have seen so many things….The Eiffel Tower, Victoria falls, The Pyramids, and so on ..the list is endless. Thanks to cinema. Yesterday I was watching Don by farhan akhtar and there was a shot when Arjun rampal and a kid were walking on the connector between the PETRONAS Tower.  How many people in their life would able to see an aerial view of the tower…?? It makes us see which we only dream or it makes us dream to see the things.

One thing that is true is that cinema is false. There is no physical pain in cinema. No one dies. If you cut someone arms, he will bleed and have an agonising pain…but not in cinema. Actor dies in a death scene but after CUT he is alive. He is an actor….he may get the feeling of the death…but not the reality of death.

This power of sound and more importantly view is something gifted to our generation. People living two centuries ago were bereft of this experience.  They could have generated the sound but the view was not there. Cinema also last longer. Earlier people got entertainment by stage plays. But it could not be recorded. A performance was for that moment only. It could not be repeated. The replay option was not there. I guess the amount of people who have watched Sholay now is much more than the time it was released.

The one thing which is totally imaginary is the animated movies. It has no relation with life except the most vital thing which cinema gives us ….the feeling. Our mind and brain works with movies to get that feel. It’s the feeling which has always lasted. The view, sound , animation all creates that effect which make people cry, laugh, smile, shout, and sometimes sleep also. Cinema is a revolution to the world of entertainment.
